Rides

Rule #4: It's all about the bike.

For more details on all our rides, please contact our development officer, Martin Dickson

Sunday Socials

The main rides we run are Sunday Socials; we meet between 9:30 and 10:00 am every Sunday at the Darkroom Espresso Coffee Shop (located here) and we run a four-category system of rides, from A (shorter, flatter, 20-25 miles) to D (longer, hillier, 40-50 miles). Rides run at 13-14 mph, we do not leave anyone behind - they are social rides! The category of upcoming rides are publicised in advance on our Facebook page (click the icon) and routes for all rides can be downloaded from our Ride with GPS page for cycle computers. Oh, and of course we stop roughly half way in each ride for refreshments at a range of excellent cafes!

Other rides

In the warmer months we add to the ride calendar with a ride on Thursday evenings, meeting at the shop at 17:30. These rides are often 20-35 miles in length and sometimes at a faster pace; good quality front and rear lights are mandatory and cafe stops are usually out owing to the timings. We are also now running a second ride every other sunday which runs at a faster 15-16 mph average and starts at an earlier time (usually 8 am). We also get involved in Sportives, Audax rides etc - Access the events calendar here to find out what members are getting involved with.

Epics

We all like to push ourselves, so on the slightly warmer and lighter days of the year we run a series of longer epic rides, which start at the same time and location as the Sunday socials, but obviously take a fair bit longer. Over the last few years, the Oxford, Isle of Wight and Severn Bridge rides have firmly established themselves as favourites.
